The trip was great. We headed off to Boston at about 6am. The travel there was a breeze, basically a straight shot. It wasn't until we got into Boston that we got lost trying to find our hotel, which turned out to be about 2-3 miles from the con.
After checking in at the Holiday Inn, we went over the the Convention. We got there at about 9am I'd say. The registration was a cinch. Being in the Artist Alley all four of us were able to cut in line. When we got to the booth, they couldn't find our badges. For some reason only one of us got in with no problem. The other 3 of us, (me included) waited in the customer service line for about 20 minutes and it was no big deal whatsoever. Better then the 2 hour wait last year and with no table.
I had a 4 foot space to myself. Friday was a really slow day and I didn't have many people at all. I drew randomly for most of the day trying to keep myself awake. Having a partner at the table last year made it easy, but I was kind of getting bored by myself. At about 10pm we decided to pack up our stuff. Everyone wanted to go to the rave, so we went there and stayed until about 1am. By the time we got back to our hotel (after getting lost again) and then everyone taking turns in the shower we didn't get to bed until about 4am.
At 11am the next day we woke up and were already late for the AA opening. We hurried down, got our free continental breakfast, and then rushed over to the Con, after getting lost again.
Saturday was awesome for me. I was busy from the moment I got to my table until about 6pm at night, then it started to slow down, but we stayed steady until 9:30pm. We called it quits and headed to our room. Sunday we just walked around and enjoyed the actual Convention, since the other days we didn't do anything but sit in the Artist Alley.
Despite all the hardships these Cons present, the outcome and enjoyment of it makes it all so worth it, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Nothing like going away for the weekend doing what you love, getting something for it, and spending the time with your favorite people.
AnimeCons truly are the greatest experiences ever. <3
